JAMB 2014 CBT: Must Read for JAMB “No Result Yet” Candidates

We have received several messages from students asking us what they need to do after writing their jamb 2014 cbt exams and did not receive any message from the jamb board.

Well, we tried our best in contacting the jamb board officials and according to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), they have asked candidates who sat for the 2014 computer base test (CBT) exam and are yet to received their result not to panic or live in fear.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had on Saturday disclosed that for all candidates who sat for the Computer Based Test (CBT) and were yet to receive their results, they should check the internet.

According to Mrs Ebere Okeke, who is the current supervisor of the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) CBT centre in Lagos State, Nigeria, reacting to complaints of missing results, Okeke said that if candidates insert or add a wrong or incorrect GSM number, this might cause the delay of their results or is the reason and cause of missing result.

Mrs Ebere also disclosed that in most cases, the delay could be caused by delay in processing of the result or network problem, but noted that it was nothing to worry about.

Mrs. Ebere also said that the problem might also be caused by individual negligence and candidates who did not carefully fill their numbers during registration.

The Yabatech supervisor also said that the Computer Base Test (CBT) mode was devoid of missing results, adding that the computers will mark immediately the candidates start writing the examination.

The Supervisor also disclosed that candidates who sat for the CBT examination would receive their results within 48 hours through their phone Short Message Service (SMS).

According to Mrs. Ebere, candidates should note that during registration, they should carefully fill in their GSM numbers, only then can the results of their examination be sent to them successfully, however, some candidates submit wrong numbers in the process and this is the main reason for not receiving any message from the JAMB board after writing their cbt examination.

Here are the words of Mrs Ebere, who we decide to quote directly.

“Some candidates are experiencing delay or have not received their results because they submitted wrong or incorrect GSM numbers. Some candidates have either misplaced their numbers or changed them as such, the computer could not deliver the result after the examination. With CBT, there is no problem of missing result, any candidate having problem with his or her result should be blamed.

“SO therefore, if any candidate does not go through the verification process or their thumb print is rejected by the machine, the computer will automatically mark such person absent from the exam.

However, if any candidate uses the wrong registration number or GSM number on the result checker, the computer is programmed to give you a message, saying that your result may be missing.

“There is a very slim possibility that candidates will have problem with their results if they follow all guidelines given to them by the Jamb board”.

However, Mrs. Ebere also said that if a candidate did not receive the result through SMS, such candidate should write to the JAMB office closest to his/her location and notify them of such situation.

She also went on to say, this: “CBT is the answer to all JAMB associated problems in the old method; there is no tension, no fighting like in the past and everywhere is peaceful and cool, the most beautiful thing about CBT, is that the area is cool, no noise and everywhere is calm and candidates can concentrate.

She also said and we quote: “It is no longer war during examination, the candidates are calm and will perform better than in the past,” she said.

While speaking with candidates after the exams, they all offer one advice to the JAMB board for the 2015 jamb exams, where they urged JAMB to perfect the process to ensure smooth take-off by 2015.
