2014/2015 Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) DAC HND and Pre-ND Application Forms is Out

Latest education news reaching us today, is that the Division of Agricultural Colleges (DAC) of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has officially announced, through the school public relation officer (PRO), that the sales of application forms for her HND and Pre-NND programmes in the academic institution.

It’s important, that all candidates who are interested should be notified of this new development.

THE courses which the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Division of Agricultural colleges offered in these three Colleges are as follows:

A. SAMARU COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, ZARIA

1. Higher National Diploma (HND) – 2 Years
Agricultural Extension and Management
Pest Management Technology
Agricultural Engineering Technology (Farm Power & Machinery)
Agricultural Engineering Technology (Soil and Water)
Home and Rural Economics
Pasture and Range Management

2. Pre-National Diploma (Pre-ND) (Science & Technology) – 1 year

B. COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AND ANIMAL SCIENCE, MANDO- KADUNA

1. Higher National Diploma (HND) – 2 Years

Animal Health
Animal Production Technology

2. Pre-National Diploma (Pre-ND) (Science & Technology)

C. KABBA COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, KABBA

1. Higher National Diploma (HND) – 2 Years

Crop Production Technology
Horticulture and Landscape Technology
Agricultural Extension and Management

2. Pre-National Diploma (Pre-ND) (Science & Technology)- 1 year

3. Cert, in Horticulture and Landscape Tech. and Poultry Prod. – 1 year

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) – DAC Programmes Entry Requirements

1. Higher National Diploma:

All candidates who are interested and wishes to apply for any of the Higher National Diploma (HND) courses should have the National Diploma with at least Lower Credit/Merit pass in any relevant accredited Agricultural programmes, which also includes a minimum of one (1) year working experience after graduation.

All applying candidates should note that the school board demands that they must also have credit passes in the relevant four subjects including the following:

Mathematics,
English Language,
Chemistry/Physics,
Agricultural Science/Biology

At any of the examination, including WAEC, (GCE), NECO and NABTEB. The four credit passes, you must note, are pre-requisites for the admission into the National Diploma programmes.

Requirements for the Individual Courses

a. Agricultural Extension and Management: All applying / interested candidates must have a National Diploma in the following:

i. Agricultural Technology,
ii. Agricultural Engineering Technology,
iii. Animal Health and Production Technology,
iv. Home and Rural Economics
OR
Relevant NCE qualifications.

b. Agricultural Engineering Technology (Farm Power and Machinery): All applying candidates must have a National Diploma in Agricultural Engineering Technology.

c. Agricultural Engineering Technology (Soil and Water). As specified in (1)b above.

d. Pest Management Technology: Applying candidates should note that the school requires them, that they must have a National Diploma in Agricultural Technology or Agricultural Engineering Technology

e. Animal Health Technology: Candidates must have National Diploma in Animal Health and Production Technology or Agricultural Technology i.e. (General Agriculture)

f. Animal Production Technology: As in No. (1c) above.

g. Crop Production Technology: Candidates must have National Diploma in Agricultural Technology (General Agriculture).

h. Horticulture and Landscape Technology: As in No. (1g) above.

i. Home and rural Economics:Candidates must have National Diploma in Home and Rural Economics.

j. Pasture and Range Management: Candidates must have National Diploma in Agricultural Technology, Animal Health and Production Technology, Forestry Technology and Wildlife Management.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

All applying candidates who have a PASS at National Diploma will not be considered for admission into the Higher National Diploma programmes of DAC except with at least 4 years of cognate experience after graduation.

You should, however note that all graduates of the Division of Agricultural Colleges with a pass grade need a minimum of 2 years cognate experience after graduation before he or she will be considered for admission into Higher National Diploma programmes of the DAC.

2. Pre-National Diploma (Science and Technology)

All candidates who wishes to apply for the Pre-ND must have at least passes in four relevant subjects at O’Level in WASC/GCE/NECO.

All successful candidates are also required by the school to register and pass the prescribed Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) before they will be qualified for admission into any National Diploma (ND) programmes of DAC.

For you to start a successful application, you need to note, that the application forms are obtainable on a straight payment of two thousand two hundred Naira (N2,200.0Q) only from any of the banks listed below:

i: Unity Bank Pic, (former Bank of the North)
ii: Main Street Branch, Zaria Kaduna State.

Take note that arrangement can also be made with the DAC Headquarters for bulk purchase by any ADP Headquarters.

Application Closing Date For Submission Of ABU-DAC HND & Pre-ND Forms

The school board has made it clear, that all completed application forms should be submitted not later than on the 29th of August, 2014 to DAC Headquarters.
