Nigeria Universities – Polytechnics and College of Education news Nigerian Educational News | Zenith Of Educational NewsAfter the West African Examinations Council, popularly known as (WAEC) in West Africa, has on Thursday released its November/December of the Senior Secondary School Examination results.
According to Statistics which was released by the board. Only 86,612 candidates, which is representing 29.17% obtained credits in five subjects and above, which include the following:
English Language,
Mathematics.
While announcing the results and statistics in Lagos State Nigeria, Head of National Office, Mr Charles Eguridu said that 308,217 candidates registered for the Nov/Dec 2013 WASSCE. From the figure, he noted, 17 candidates, representing 20.73% obtained credits in 5 subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
The Head of National Office, Eguridu also disclosed this to Journalists when he said this:
“Of the total of candidates that sat the examination, 120,115 candidates, representing 40.46%, obtained 6 credits and above; 161,721 candidates representing 54.48% obtained 5 credits and above. In addition, 198,832 candidates, representing 66.98% obtained credits and above in four subjects while 230,325 candidates representing 77.59 obtained Credits and above in 3 subjects. A total of 256,500 candidates representing 86.41% obtained credits and above in 2 subjects.”
When compared to the November/December 2011 and 2012 WASSCE (Private) results, Eguridu said, there is a marked decline in candidates’ performance.
The Head of National Office also disclosed this when he said: “In 2011 a total of 139,827 candidates, representing 36.07% obtained credits in 5 subjects and above including English Language and Mathematics.
Also in 2012, a total of 150,615 candidates, representing 37.97% obtained credits in 5 subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

Federal Govt should prepare a syllabus and give it 2 teachers to use it 2 prepare every students or candidates and make it mandatory dat every teacher must use the syllabus in teaching.
please the year written for the 2014 Part-time studies is wrong. Instead of 14-16 February 2014, it was February 14-16 2013 that was written.
am kind of confused right now about it…please correct.
