Rev. Father Appeals To FG, ASUU To Call Off Strike

According to information reahing us, one Catholic cleric, Rev. Fr. John Ikponko, has appealed to the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to resolve their differences in order to save the university system.

Ikponko, Parish Priest, Saint Theresa’s Catholic Parish, High Level, Makurdi, made the call in his sermon on Sunday.

The catholic priest did say that the Federal Government and ASUU should shift their positions to end the strike, since it’s affecting Nigeria as a whole.

The Cleric also went further to say that the Federal Government and ASUU know the problem, and he’s wondering why both parties cannot agree.

Here is what Rev. Fr. John Ikponko said and we quote him..
“As a country, we do not have any reason for university students being at home for more than 3 months without encouraging them to misbehave.” (how true is this?)

Rev. Fr. John Ikponko also said this and we quote him.
“University education is important, and it is where we produce professionals to handle various aspects of our economy.”
