Latest educational news reaching DSN today, is that one Federal Government Intervention Agency, the Petroleum Development Trust Fund (PDTF) has just re-stated her determination in rewarding academic excellence in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
When the ceremony was held, in his remarks at the presentation ceremony which was held on Wednesday, the 17th of July, 2013 to reward twelve (12) undergraduate students of the federal university of Technology Owerri (FUTO), the Executive Secretary, PTDF, Mallam Shehu commended the academic prowess of the FUTO students and their successful outing at the PTDF Scholarship Scheme.
According to the Executive Secretary, who was represented by the Deputy Manager, PTDF Abuja Mr. Garba Bako where he said that PDTF was mandated to train brilliant Nigerians to be professionals in their various fields and careers.
The Executive secretary also congratulated the beneficiaries and warned them of the acts that are capable of stripping them of the awards.
While speaking during the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), thanked the Executive Secretary of the PDTF for the cordial relationship between the two organizations.
The FUTO Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) also congratulated the awardees and implored them to maintain the standards that earned the scholarships.
I highly recommend this, and i sure do hope that PDTF keep up, this will really encourage other Nigeria Students.
The twelve beneficiaries were later presented with scholarship award letters and one Hewlett Packard computer Laptops at the Council/Senate chamber of the University.
