The Joint Admission and Matriculation board, JAMB has disclosed to the general public, that the JAMB direct entry registration closing date has been scheduled. The Public relations Officer, made this announcement yesterday, where he said that the Direct Entry (DE) application, which began in December 2017, would close on the 4th of June, which will be Monday.
The Board’s Head of Media, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, made the announcement in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in FCT Abuja.
According to Dr Fabian Benjamin, over 140, 000 candidates have so far obtained the JAMB Direct Entry Forms online.
Fabian also went on to say that the closure became necessary in order to avail the board to plan ahead for the 2018 admission process into various institutions, which is billed to start very soon.
“With the policy meeting which is scheduled to hold on June 26, which involves the Minister of Education and all stakeholders in the sector, the 2018 admission guidelines would be discussed and approved for the board for the 2018 Admission year.
“This includes both for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and DE.
“Therefore, all candidates who are interested and would love to apply for the JAMB D.E should use this few days remaining to go and register, as no extension of date will be granted.”
Also speaking on the new JAMB development, Dr Fabian Benjamin said that the board is scheduled to released the results of the mop up examination conducted for candidates, who were rescheduled for the UTME on Saturday, May 26.
