Federal University Ndufu-Alike (FUNAI) To Commence Academic Activities On 15th Of September 2012

Latest Information coming from the Senate of the Federal University,Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, held her inaugural session and has also approved that academic activities should begin in the educational institution starting from the 15th of September, 2012.

The educational institution Senate body has also pegged all the university school fees, which means that the school now charges between the sum of sixty and sixty-two thousand naira per academic session.
relating this information at the occasion, the educational institution Vice Chancellor, Professor Oye Ibidapo-Obe, is congratulating the Senate body of the University for successfully convening and the professor went further to state that the meeting is a true historic and epoch-making.
Because the ceremony has marked a bold move toward the eventual take off of the university.

Professor Ibidapo-Obe, has stated that as the highest academic policy-making organ of the University, members of the educational institution should join hands with the management body to nurture the new university so as to take it to its rightful place in the academic arena.
The professor also promised that his year of rule, that is tenure or administration would encourage research and innovative skills among the staff and students, stressing that the staff would be encouraged to undertake research through the provision of funds and collaboration with donor agencies and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TetFund).

The professor further went on to assured the staff of a very comfortable conducive working environment to enable them put in their best, promising that activities would start on the university staff quarters next year.

The Vice Chancellor also stated that the Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (Funai) would depart from the old ways of doing things in order to mark herself out as a distinguished centre of excellence and scholarship, adding that the best brains within and outside the country had been recruited to groom the new students for a better tomorrow.
The vice chancellor also described the new university as a blessing, not just only to Ebonyi State but Nigeria as a country, saying that the new university would provide diverse opportunities such as training and employment opportunities for the youths of the state and nation at large.

The vice chancellor, however blamed the Ivory Tower for the travails of the nation as they have failed to provide leadership direction.

the university should be held responsible for whatever problem the country is having today because she has failed to to provide the necessary leadership required to put the country in its rightful position.
while contributing to this, the immediate past Vice Chancellor of Ebonyi State University, Professor Fidelis Ogah, congratulated the management for successfully convening the Senate which he described the event as history making.
Professor Ogah who is also in the department of Anatomy and Physiology of the University, has expressed satisfaction with the steps which has been taken by the Vice Chancellor of the university to develop the University and urged him to adopt the system of Build, Operate and Transfer in the provision of hostels for the students.

The inaugural Senate meeting was truly great, as the meeting was attended by the following:
1. Deans of faculties,
2. Heads of departments,
3. All professors,
4. Senior lecturers,
which also include the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Registrar,Mr. G. O. Chukwu.
