THE President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan, has officially agreed to honour a total of 164 National Youth Service Corps Members.
Information which was released to the Dailyschoolnews Nigeria team, as one of the most prominent educational news broadcasting platform in Nigeria, disclosed that a total of 164 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will today be honoured by President Goodluck Jonathan.
The public should take note that the awardees were selected from a total of 613 corps members who were nominated across the country.
According to our correspondent who disclosed to us, that the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier-General Johnson Olawunmi, disclosed this information recently at a press briefing.
“Following the gracious approval of Dr Goodluck Jonathan for the next edition of the NYSC Honours Award, the much anticipated event will take place on Monday in the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja,”
The Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier-General Johnson also said that the 164 corp members were selected by a panel of distinguished Nigerians out of a total of 613 corps members who were nominated and recommended for the award from the president across the country by fellow Nigerians for their good works.
“In order to ensure thoroughness and absolute fairness about the selection of the corps members, the process of selecting this year’s award winners was conducted by some distinguished Nigerians, who are admired by the general public, and who also have good track records of honesty and integrity.
The public should take note that the NYSC Honours Award has always been a major event since the introduction of the scheme.
