As we all know, the Nigeria forthcoming election for 2015 is at hand, and the National Youth Service Corps members will be the one to take care of the election and other related stuffs.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Administration has in Kano state, re-assured corps members who wish to work as ad-hoc staff in the February 2015 elections, of adequate security which will be provided by INEC.
The Kano state NYSC coordinator, Mr Sanusi Abdulrashid gave this assurance in an interview with NAN in Kano State on Friday.
The Coordinator also went on to disclose that the national headquarters of NYSC, in Abuja, Nigeria would collaborate with various security agencies around the country and especially, INEC to make sure that all those NYSC corps who will participating in the exercise are provided with adequate security.
He added that though several corps members had indicated their willingness to participate in the elections, the directorate was yet to ascertain their exact number. “We don’t know the specific number of corps members that will participate in the elections for now’,’ Abdulrashid said, adding that participation in the exercise was optional for all corps members deployed to the state.
He also made it clear, that participation in the election is purely of a choice and the board is NOT forcing any corps member who is not willing to participate in the election, here’s his statement and we quote:
“The application to partake in the conduct of the election is through online registration and it is the wish of a corp member to participate or not.
He however, made it clear that INEC would be the ones to chose the numbers of corps who would partake in the election.
