THE National Youth Service Corps (nysc) management has just released a full information on certain people who have been banned from partaking in their services.
THE board announces today, that they have banned these groups of people from taking parts in their programme, which includes:
Post Graduate (PG) students.
According to information been released by the NYSC DG, Brigadier General Johnson Olawumi, disclosed that the exemption of people in these categories from the NYSC service was mainly because these graduates would not be able to undergo the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC, which are as follows:
Primary assignment, and
Winding-up passing out parade.
The NYSC DG, Brid.Gen Johnson Olawumi went on to disclosed that it didn’t make sense that pregnant women and nursing mothers would be absent from these stages of the national service, stating that it is not good that they will be absent from these stages, then have to resurface for posting to their various places of primary assignments.
The NYSC management went on to say that pregnant women and children would no longer be allowed into orientation camps across the country, to keep both Mothers and children safe.
What do you think about this new policy from NYSC? Is it good or bad?
DO you have any nysc orientation camp experience with Pregnant Women or Nursing mothers?
