Yes, finally the expected has happened, as Lagos State Polytechnic Students are Happy Over The Recently Suspended Strike.
According to our correspondent, some students of the Lagos State Polytechnic which is located in Ikorodu has on Tuesday, being the 28th of may 2013, expressed relief that the institution’s chapter of the Academic State Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, had suspended its strike which started about a month ago.
The students spoke in Lagos state, as they began to trickle into classes after the local ASUP chapter decided to return to classes.
According to the local chapter, which had taken the action in spite of the continuation of the strike by the national body which started on April, the 29th 2013.
A Mass Communication student in HND II, Omowunmi Oladipupo, said that she is happy to be back in school after being kept at home because of the strike, and according to her, the strike put a halt to her studies.
Quoting her, here is exactly what she said:
“I am happy the strike has been suspended because our time was being wasted when the strike was going on
looking at the school academic calendar, all serious students are aware that it has been disrupted and this has drawn the students back.
The school was supposed to have resumed in April and students were scheduled to commence their second semester examinations in July.
The strike has affected students writing their projects, because they do not have access to their supervisors.
